About Claire

Claire is a small business owner and past City Councillor for the District of Kitimat. She moved to Kitimat in 2011 with her partner Oliver and together they started DivineInk, the first tattoo studio in Kitimat. In 2013 she ran successfully for City Council in Kitimat and was the youngest person to ever sit on their council. After her four year term she decided to pursue politics at a federal level.

Claire grew up in the lower mainland, she was an artist from a very young age and she greatly enjoys her career in tattooing. In her teen years Claire struggled with heavy drug addiction and she has been clean for almost eight years now. She believes that her experiences during those years taught her a lot about empathy and respect for other people’s struggles and made her into a passionate advocate for substance abuse recovery.

Claire has always been very politically minded and she knew she wanted to make a difference from a very young age. Moving up north and starting her own little family has given her the experience and knowledge to really make that difference for the community that has already given her so much.

Claire believes that having the honour to represent Skeena-Bulkley Valley means being involved in our communities, being accessible to constituents and having respectful and productive consultation with all residents. Her plan is to represent us to Ottawa, not the other way around.

Claire supports more investment in our region through better social programs that are tailored with a "made in the north" approach, and incentives to attract residents and businesses alike. She believes that more can be done to foster an environment where entrepreneurs can thrive during the development of the large industrial projects which are crucial to our region.

Claire wants to fight for a stronger economy and a higher quality of living in Skeena-Bulkley Valley. She is determined to take the steps necessary to improve our economic outlook, and promote value added, environmentally safe projects for the region.

Claire is asking for the privilege of being your federal voice because she offers a new, locally-focused approach. If you are ready for a fresh perspective, and a devoted Member of Parliament who will fight for Skeena-Bulkley Valley, get involved now - and support Claire Rattée as your Conservative Party Candidate!

Glen Motz

MP for Medicine Hat - Cardston - Warner

“Claire Rattée is an amazing young woman. An individual who has an incredible personal life story which demonstrates her determination, perseverance and commitment. These traits will assist her as she endeavours to serve the constituents of Skeena - Bulkley Valley as the Conservative Party of Canada candidate in this fall’s federal election. I am impressed with how she understands and articulates the issues that matter most to Canadians and her desire to serve others. She is the perfect person to bring a fresh perspective to the Conservative family and fight for you.”

Blaine Calkins

MP for Red Deer - Lacombe

“It’s a pleasure for me to endorse Claire Rattée as the CPC candidate for Skeena - Bulkley Valley. Her passion for the local area coupled with her experience in municipal politics positions her to step into the role of MP with ease. I was particularly impressed with her desire to support outdoor pursuits such as hunting, fishing and trapping, vital to the residents and businesses in the region. I know she will represent the region and its people well. I look forward to seeing her take a seat in the House of Commons.”

Phil Germuth

Mayor of Kitimat

“I had the pleasure of working with Claire for the four years we served on the District of Kitimat Council together. Claire is very intelligent, dedicated and always well spoken and well prepared. I have no doubt Claire would be an asset to any political organization. Claire in my opinion has a great understanding that being able to care for those in need and providing essential services to all also requires sustainable and environmentally conscious economic development to fund it. Being a successful small business owner is another of Claire's achievements that show her high level of commitment and work ethic.”

Dan Albas

MP for Nicola-Similkameen

“Claire is the exact kind of candidate Canada’s Conservatives want to represent the citizens of Skeena-Bulkley Valley: a successful young entrepreneur, former city councillor and a strong voice for her community and region’s economic aspirations. She would present a fresh face and a determination to succeed, contrasting with a tired and flailing NDP. Put Claire to work as the 2019 CPC candidate for Skeena- Bulkley Valley!”

Jessica McCallum-Miller

Councillor for the City of Terrace

“Claire is an exceptional candidate, she is caring, well spoken and determined. She has gained so much experience as one of the youngest elected officials to represent British Columbia and the District of Kitimat as a Councillor for Kitimat for a 4 year term. I have absolute assurance that she will continue to do great things and will be a great leader for the Skeena- Bulkley Valley and representative for the Conservative Party of Canada.”
